An Apartment of Her Own

Hi there,

Home again!  Had a lovely visit with my daughter and family this week and celebrated our grandson's 13th birthday!

And as you can see, the blog layout has remained the same.  I attempted to change the look and add sidebars, but realized that if I did, I would have to go back over every post and resize all the images.........way too time consuming!  So, I will leave it as is for now.

Hope you enjoy this beautiful, colorful and feminine Palm Beach apartment designed by T. Keller Donovan.

Designed for Kay Gilman, the first female sportswriter for the New York Daily News, Donovan used the large living room area to provide several conversation areas about the room.  The large sofa faces the windows so the palm trees can be enjoyed and the banquette provides a sunny spot by the window for casual comfort.

Donovan added dressmaker details throughout which only adds to the femininity of the space (notice the bows on the chair below and the headboard).

Take a peek at all the details and enjoy the beautiful colors and design.

Have a great weekend.

Kay

  1. Hi Kay, I just read your comment regarding changing your blog layout and I have had similar problems that I have been trying to fix for months and finally stumbled on Helplogger and in a couple of steps it finally worked and so simple! I'm sure if you check this site it would be able to help. Good luck! From a newbie blogger

  3. Really love your blog and information. What fabric was used in the sunroom and does it come in blue?

    1. Hi Sheryl.....glad you're enjoying the blog!

If by the 'sunroom' you mean the small office/guest room with the daybed, the fabric is Osborne & Little's "Coquine"......MLF2191-03 is the number for the blue fabroc and it looks like a pretty baby blue (also wallpaper available). Donovan says "this fabric is neither a coral or a leopard print, but makes you think of both". If you google 'Osborne & Little's Coquine fabric' you will find it.

The fabric on the banquette by the living room window is Quadrille's 'Island Ikat'.

Thanks so much for dropping by the blog and for your enquiry.....have a great day!
